Jose Iglesias has hired Scott Boras as his agent, according to Tim Healey of Newsday.
The fan-favorite Mets second baseman — and “OMG” singer— became a free agent after the team’s magical postseason run ended in the NLCS against the Dodgers.

“We truly have the first MLB two-way player,” Boras said of the singing slugger, via Healey.
Iglesias was called up from Triple-A when the Mets were 23-33. After that, the team went 66-40 for the rest of the regular season, the best record in baseball in that stretch.
The 34-year-old hit .337/.381/.448 with an .830 OPS in 291 plate appearances over 85 games with the Mets.
He’s also a latin pop star who provided this year’s fun-loving Mets team with an anthem to play to as they pushed further into the postseason than expected.
Iglesias might end up with a new team in 2025 as Mets could look to explore the market for a new backup veteran infielder. Jeff McNeil will likely be the starter at second base and the team’s need for Iglesias won’t be as strong as it was this year.
