This is an incredible example of an Orthoceras fossil display specimen!!
Orthoceras are the remains of extinct marine animals.
This piece is over 400 million years old and is from Morocco. It is called the
straight horn fossil.
These are before the dinosaurs!
They were a relative of the ammonite and are a member of the Nautiloid family.
This specimen weighs approximately 5 lbs 11.5 oz. 2,579.81 gr.
This item is approximately 11.75" wide at top
This item is approximately 3.50 across the narrowest part of bottom.
This specimen is approximately 11.5" long and over 2" in height.
