    Description

This is a small cut, shaped and lightly polished on one side fossilized Orthoceras specimen which would be a perfect pocket rock or worry stone. Orthoceras was an ancient mollusk that lived more than 400 million years ago. The name means straight horn, referring to the characteristic long, straight, conical shell. The preserved shell is all that remains of this ancestor to our modern day squid. This specimen is the perfect size to use as a pocket stone. Note it is sometimes misspelled as Orthocera, Orthocerus or Orthoceros. This Orthoceras fossil specimen measures 3.60 inches long by 1.14 inches wide. This Orthoceras specimen is in great condition with a light polished on the top side. Please visit my eBay store Mountainamma's Marketplace for thousands of items to browse through.
