Australia Antique Map by A&C Black Gold Districts with Inset of Tasmania c1860

Description

Original map of Australia (with Tasmania inset) by the company of A. & C. Black, published in Edinburgh circa 1860. The pictures do not do justice to the map, as the colors are subtle and the fine text looks far better in person. The size is approximately 23.5" x 17.5" and its condition is excellent, with full borders on all sides (pardon the wood pieces used to flatten it for the photo). It has been kept in a properly humidified area in a tube for the many years I've owned it. It is made to fold in half, with a piece of archival tape on the back to support that seam. Beautiful map that deserves to be framed and displayed, which I never got around to doing.
