This is a set of 2 nice polished ammonite fossils.  One of the ammonites (a Schloenbachia ammonite)
was found in Morocco and dates back to approximately 100 million years ago.  It measures 5 3/4 inches in length and 4 1/4 inches in height.  The other ammonite was found in Madagascar and measures 3 1/4 inches in length and 2 1/2 inches in height.    It is approximately 120 million years old.  These are great items for educational purposes or for starting or adding to a fossil collection!
Ammonites were prehistoric marine creatures related to the modern day cuttlefish, squid, and octopus family.  Ammonites are called cephalopods because their heads and tentacles protruded out of the same opening; they grew by building larger chambers onto their shells.
We have a variety of ammonite fossils available for sale so be sure to check out our other items!
