Description
BEIT ALPHA CUCUMBERSare becoming more popular among growers, and for good reason. They’re gynoecious (produce only female flowers) and parthenocarpic, so they don’t require pollination. A delicious, very sweet cucumber that is usually picked small and does not need peeling, the skin is very thin and great for pickles, the seeds are small. This variety is very popular in the Mediterranean, having been developed in Israel at the kibbutz farm. Now becoming popular with Americans because of the fruits fine flavor and high yields. They are also burpless and have great shelf life.
Grow on hills or in a container with a trellis. Plant produces green cucumbers 5" to 8" long. This strain also has a short sturdy vine suitable for containers with a small trellis, hanging baskets or garden hills. Easy to grow from seed. Steady water and a little organic fertilizer.
