1920s BUDDY ROGERS Autograph & Photo Vintage Silent Film Movie Actor Charles Buddy Rogers signed Album Page and 5x7 fan photograph
Nice original 1920s - 1930s vintage signed album page with large signature of American silent film actor and jazz musician Charles "Buddy" Rogers. The large vintage album page measuring 4-1/2" x 6-3/4" is held onto a yellow sheet 7-3/4" x 9-3/4" with black photo corners but may be removed and matted if desired. The page is signed "Clara Good luck Buddy Rogers". In addition, I am including an original vintage 5x7 promotional fan photograph of the actor captioned "CHARLES BUDDY ROGERS". A nice early piece of film memorabilia.
Charles "Buddy" Rogers was born in1904 in Olathe, Kansas and attended the University of Kansas. He studied music and led a small dance band. Just before graduation in 1925 he was discovered by motion picture talent scouts from Paramount Studios. He then attended acting school and soon found himself in a silent movie with W. C. Fields entitled, "So's Your Old Man," filmed in New York. Buddy was then sent to California and embarked on a movie career. He starred in the 1927 film "Wings." It was the first film to win an Academy Award for best picture and is now considered a classic. Buddy would eventually appear in 39 films. He also resumed being a band leader. In 1937 he and Mary Pickford, "America's Sweetheart" (he was known as "America's boyfriend") were married and continued to be married for the next 42 years until Mary passed away.
